Meet the Author
Claudine’s passion to be a writer/author began a half century ago at age six. She recounted that while spending the weekend with her grandparents, her grandmother gave her a new book to read, Mandy by Julie Andrews Edwards. Claudine was a quiet and shy child but she throughly enjoyed reading. It was her favorite past-time. That is until that stay at her grandparents home. After reading the book from cover to cover through the night she remembers telling her grandmother that she wanted to be a writer and write books just like that one. Claudine remembers fondly that her grandmother set her up a desk in her sewing closet with a pad of paper and a jar of pens that very day. She smiles at the memory and states, “My grandmother said a writer has to have a place to write and one day when you’re a famous author you’ll sign my books.” Sadly, her grandmother passed away ten years ago at a very old age. Claudine hopes that God will share the news with her in Heaven of her granddaughter’s dreams coming true.
As an adult Claudine enjoyed spending time with her family taking the backroads around their rural Eastern Washington small town. Weekends when the household chores were done and church services complete they would take family drives to explore. Claudine enjoying history as a second best to reading or writing finds great pleasure in finding old homesteads, cemeteries, and ghost towns. She uses these backdrops as key pieces to her historical fiction mystery stories. With her imagination she brings a story to intertwine with actual history in her books pulling readers into a different place in time.
When Claudine is not reading, writing, or searching history, she is most comfortable in the barnyards or pastures with the small cow herd she manages. She came to be the Amateur Cow Whisperer on a historic century-owned cattle ranch back in 2010 and her passion for “her” cows is great. She took to blogging her cow experiences with a human element side to the stories and is able to show the similarities to cow and human behaviors in a quirky heart-warming style.
Claudine would like to thank her audience for their readerships and implores them to follow their dreams and stay loyal to their own hearts.
